This is to announce that C compiler and relocatable assembler for the 77xx series of microcomputers have been upgraded as follows:

- (1)Faster compilation.
- (2)An option added to give a warning that the upper portion of a longer-typed value is lost when it is assigned to a shorter-typed value, for instance.
- (3)An option added to give a warning that an auto variable with no value is used.

- (1)The problem fixed which expands macro arguments described in the fault statements of conditional assembling.
- (2)Branch optimization tool br77 introduced as a freeware product.
- If the destination of a branch instruction is outside the addressable range, an assemble error occurs. Tool br77 can convert such an instruction to the one with which the branch is possible. Please download br77 from here.
