PD79 V.2.10 Release 1
Precaution
|
Please take note of the following problems in using emulator debugger PD79 V.2.10 Release 1 for the 7900 series of microcomputers.

On the Watchdog Timer
- 1.1 Problem
- The watchdog timer cannot be disabled in the user program.
- 1.2 Solution
- A custom window is available for disabling the watchdog timer in the user program. Please install the custom window program into PD79 through the following steps:
- (1)Download the custom window file wdtimer.exe (10K Bytes)
- (2)Decompress the downloaded file in the directory where PD79 exists. This file is a self-extracting archive.
- (3)In PD79, select the [Optional Window] -> [Custom Window] -> [Option] menu. You see the Custom Window Option dialog box opens.
- (4)Press the Add button in the above dialog box to register the custom window program to PD79.
- (5)Select the [Optional Window] -> [Custom Window] -> [WDTimer] menu, which was added to PD79 by the step (4) above. You see the registered window.
- 1.3 Function of the custom window
- You can switch between enabling and disabling the watchdog timer using the check box in the custom window as follows (the settings are reflected after executing the reset command):
- (1)Unchecked: Watchdog timer enabled (default state)
- (2)Checked: Watchdog timer disabled
- 1.4 Schedule of fixing the problem
- We plan to fix this problem in our next release.

On the Dropout of Data in Real-Time Tracing
- 2.1 Problem
- In real-time tracing, data items may drop out.
- 2.2 Solution
- Download the firmware file pd79firm.exe (411K Bytes) and decompress the file in the directory where PD79 exists.This file is a self-extracting archive.
- Note that this firmware file does not run on the versions of PD79 prior to V.2.10 Release 1.
- 2.3 Schedule of fixing the problem
- We plan to fix this problem by including the firmware file with PD79 in our next release.
