This is to announce that C compiler and relocatable assembler for the M16C/80 series of microcomputers have been upgraded as follows:

- 1.1 C compiler NC308
- (1)SBDATA declaration utility SB308 supported.
- (2)Special page declaration utility SP308 supported.
- (3)Optimizing options level-structured with new options added.
- (4)An option added to display a warning message.
- (5)Optimization upgraded.
- (6)The known problems fixed.[For details refer to every piece of Tool News describing "NC308WA Precaution" issued after Feb. 1, 1999 (release date of the preceding version).]
- 1.2 Relocatable assembler AS308
- (1)Even when operands of assembler directive commands and mnemonics contain character strings, it is allowed to describe operations of these operands.
- (2)The maximum number of files treated at a time by cross referencer xrf308 extended up to 600.
