This section describes an overview of the program you will create in this tutorial and Renesas Starter Kit for RX610 (R0K556100S000BE).

You are going to create a simple program which causes two LEDs flash alternately. See "Description of Sample Program" for details on this program.

2. Overview of Renesas Starter Kit for RX610 (R0K556100S000BE)

The following is an overview of R0K556100S000BE which will be used as a target board.

Please set up the switches as follows.

See "Specifications of R0K556100S000BE" in Appendix for details on R0K556100S000BE.

Evaluation LED2              : Lights in yellow when the port 33 (P33) is LOW.

Evaluation LED3              : Lights in yellow when the port 36 (P36) is LOW.

E1(14pin connector)       : Used for on-chip debugging.

Switch

MDE                                  :Jumper in the L position(Little endian)

MD0                                   :Open(Single chip mode)

MD1                                   :Open

EMLE                                :Jumper in the L position

J13                                    :Jumper across pin 2 and 3.

J5                                       :Open(Disable external power,Power is supplied via E1.)

J12                                    :Jumper across pin 2 and 3.

About endian

The sample program used this time operates with the little endian. Therefore, the switch MDE of a target board is set as the little endian. When you want to execute the program by the big endian, please set the jumper of the switch MDE in the H position.
